Knowlton Pub launches its first annual charity golf tourney

Now’s your chance to hit the links for a good cause. On Friday, May 24, the Knowlton Pub is hosting its first annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Inverness Golf Club. Net proceeds go to the Butters Foundation, which has been helping the intellectually handicapped in Montérégie and the Eastern Townships since 1976.

“We want to do our part for the community by supporting the Butters Foundation,” explained Evelyne Rivard, one of the Pub’s three new owners.

The $80 per person fee covers green fees for the day, a golf cart, plus a three-course dinner in the evening at the Pub. After dinner, donated items will be auctioned off to raise more money. Several celebrities, including retired hockey announcer Red Story, will attend the event. Participants will receive a $30 tax receipt.

“We’re aiming for 60 to 80 golfers,” said Ms. Rivard, adding that non-golfers can also support the cause by making a donation to the Butters Foundation at the Pub. (Cheques should be made out to The Butters Foundation.)

Time is running out, so call the Knowlton Pub now at (450) 242-6862 to reserve your spot in the May 24 Knowlton Pub Charity Golf Tournament.
